Dallas Pulse outside hitter Mimi Colyer led all scorers with 22 points, tallying 21 kills on 45 swings. Opposite hitter Kelsie Payne added 15 kills on 32 attempts and four blocks. Player of the Game went to Kaylee Cox, who provided a spark off the bench with 13 kills on 30 swings. Dallas finished with a season-high 73 kills and 13 blocks.

The best part about todays game was the full team effort, said Dallas PULSE Head Coach Shannon Winzer. Our serving subs, Geli Cyr and Isabel Martin, hit key serves in crucial moments, and we continue to show the depth of talent in this team with Malaya Jones getting two key points late in the fourth set and Kaylee Cox coming in the third to make an immediate impact offensively. Every game, we want to improve on the last, and so far, we are doing just that. We are also showing the character of this team and what we are building in Dallas. Never count us out.

For Orlando, opposite hitter Brittany Abercrombie recorded a double-double with 17 kills on 40 swings and 11 digs. Outside hitter Charitie Luper chipped in nine kills on 26 attempts.

Orlando struck first in the opening set and maintained the edge. Dallas clawed back to even the score at 24-24 behind six kills from Payne and five from Colyer. A successful block-touch challenge swung momentum back to the Valkyries, and late breakdowns in serve-receive allowed a kill from Abercrombie and an ace from Maddux to seal the 26-24 set. While Payne and Colyer powered the Pulse offense, Orlando spread production across six players with at least one kill.

The second set followed a similar script, with the teams deadlocked at 21-21 before Orlando closed on a 4-1 run to take a 2-0 lead.

Dallas flipped the match in set three. Cox came off the bench for the Pulse and immediately made an impact, posting five kills on nine swings without an error. An error by Orlando gave Dallas a 20-14 cushion, capped by a 3-0 solo run from Payne to make it 23-14. Another error returned the ball to Orlando, but a kill from middle blocker Tristin Savage gave the ball back to Dallas. Luper added one final kill for the Valkyries before Payne closed the frame with a kill, 25-16.

With Colyer serving in the fourth set, Dallas surged early behind a 4-0 run fueled by Cox, who finished the set with six kills. Pulse middle blocker Layne Van Buskirk hit .600 in the frame, and improved defensive play helped Dallas edge Orlando, 25-23, forcing a decisive fifth set.

Orlando grabbed an early lead in the final frame before Dallas evened the score at 6-6. The Pulse then erupted on a 9-3 run to secure the five-set upset over the reigning Major League Volleyball champions, 15-9.

Dallas PULSE will remain on the road for a matchup against the Columbus Fury on Thursday, January 29, with a 6:00 p.m. CT start at Nationwide Arena. Fans can watch live on YouTube.

Dallas returns home Thursday, February 5, to host the Omaha Supernovas at Comerica Center in Frisco at 7:00 PM CT.

Dallas PULSE outside hitter and the 2026 MLV first overall draft pick, Mimi Colyer, led all scorers with 24 kills (26 points) on 58 swings. Outside hitter Sofia Maldonado Diaz added 17 kills on 45 attempts. Major League Volleyballs leading middle blockers, Tristin Savage and Layne Van Buskirk, recorded eight and five kills, respectively. The PULSE finished with 12 total blocks, marking their third straight match with double-digit blocks.

For Atlanta, outside hitter Leah Edmond led the Vibe with 20 kills on 47 swings and posted a double-double with 13 digs. Opposite hitter Aiko Jones contributed 15 kills and nine digs.

Dallas opened with the first point, but Atlanta quickly responded and controlled much of the opening set behind Edmond, who tallied eight kills on 14 swings. The PULSE battled back to tie the set at 20-all, but a late 5-0 run propelled the Vibe to a 25-20 first-set win.

The second set featured tight back-and-forth play, with the score knotted 12 times. Colyer provided the spark for Dallas, recording eight kills on 14 attempts to push the PULSE to a 25-22 set victory and even the match.

Momentum shifted again in the third set as three consecutive kills from Dallas, one by Maldonado Diaz and two from middle blocker Van Buskirk, gave the PULSE a late edge. Atlanta Vibe opposite hitter Aiko Jones sealed the set at 25-23 after a service error, despite Maldonado Diaz delivering two late points, including an ace, to pull Dallas within one.

Dallas responded in the fourth, breaking a 4-4 tie and holding the lead the rest of the way. PULSE outside hitter Kaylee Cox fueled a key 4-0 run from the service line, extending the PULSEs advantage to 23-16. Atlanta cut the deficit to three, and a kill from Jones put the Vibe at 20, but back-to-back Vibe errors closed the set, 25-20, and sent the match to a fifth.

In the final frame, Dallas erased two early three-point deficits before tying the score at 7-7. After Atlanta regained a brief two-point lead, Maldonado Diaz notched her 16th kill of the night to pull the PULSE within one. With Cox back at the baseline, Dallas closed the match on a strong run to secure the 15-9 win and a 3-2 victory.

Dallas PULSE will continue their road series Sunday, January 25, with a 2:00 p.m. CT matchup against the Orlando Valkyries at Addition Financial Arena. Fans can watch live on YouTube.

The Dallas PULSE secured a 3-1 victory against San Diego Mojo on Thursday, Jan.15, at Comerica Center in Frisco, earning the teams first-ever franchise win in their inaugural Major League Volleyball season.

Dallas PULSE fell short in the opening set, scoring 15-25, but responded with determination and power, winning the next three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-16, and 25-18.

Sofia Maldonado Diaz, Dallas PULSE outside hitter, recorded a double-double, leading the PULSE with 12 kills and 10 digs, posting a .276 hitting average. Outside hitter Mimi Colyer also contributed 12 kills, while middle blockers Layne Van Buskirk and Trisitin Savage anchored the net on both ends for the PULSE. Van Buskirk finished with nine kills and four blocks, while Savage added 10 kills and three blocks, earning Dallas PULSE Player of the Game.

Tonight was amazing. Its our very first win for this franchise, for Dallas, and its the best weve played as a team, said Dallas PULSE Head Coach Shannon Winzer. When you watch us play and see the players having fun and enjoying the game, that team aspect comes a lot easier. When were not getting the blocks, were getting the digs, and having that many players running speed off a dig is huge.

For San Diego, outside hitter Grace Loberg led the Mojo with 12 kills on 39 attempts. Former SMU standout Maya Tabron tallied nine kills and 11 digs for San Diego. Middle blockers Kayla Caffey and Marin Crote chipped in eight kills on 15 swings, and seven kills on 18 attempts, for the Mojo.

San Diego jumped out to an early advantage, opening the match with a 4-0 run, and claiming the first set, 25-15, behind Lobergs four kills.

I think we came out a bit flat, said Dallas PULSE middle blocker Layne Van Buskirk. We reminded ourselves that were at our best when were having fun, and that really showed in the second set.

Ram is charging back into the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series the way that only Ram can. In partnership with Thrill Sports Productions, Ram is launching Race For The Seat, a bold new reality competition series that gives 15 aspiring drivers the chance of a lifetime: to earn a spot in one of five Ram 1500 race trucks on the Kaulig Racing team for the 2026 season.

About the Show

Over eight adrenaline-fueled episodes, contestants will go head-to-head on iconic tracks across the country including Virginia International Raceway and South Boston (Va.) Speedway. Viewers will get an inside look at the drivers lives, their triumphs and setbacks, and the raw determination it takes to rise through the ranks of motorsports.

Ram is an iconic American brand, and Im excited to partner up with them for their new reality series, Race for the Seat, said Dana White, UFC CEO. This reality show is all about finding up-and-coming drivers and giving them a massive platform. The best always rise to the top in this type of competition. We are going to find the next generation of superstars for the NASCAR truck series, added White.

Special guest appearances will add to drama both on and off the track.

We promised Ram would approach NASCAR differently and Race For The Seat is proof. Sometimes raw talent isnt enough... Among these competitors, talent is a given. What were looking for is heart, hustle, attitude, and an insane drive to succeed someone who lives our Last Tenth culture. When a driver rises from a field of 15, itll be their shot, their break and knowing Dana, probably a few kicks that lead to a life-changing moment by the time we get to Daytona, Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Ram.

Working with RAM to bring this show to life allows us to think differently, push the limits, and give these talented drivers a platform they wouldnt normally have. I cant wait to see who earns the seat and joins us on the track.

Despite some recent injuries and illnesses, Im optimistic that many of our runners will be back in time for Districts. The team is eager, and Im confident well finish the season on a high note. Im excited to see both our boys and girls compete against the best runners in our district next Friday.

On a hot and challenging course at Mae Simmons Park, the Varsity Girls secured a 2nd place overall finish, while the Varsity Boys dominated with a 1st place team victory. Both teams showed grit and determination, and the experience will be invaluable as they prepare to return to this course in October for an even bigger challenge.

Mallory Sherrer, Rachel Arrington, and Annie Reeder finished 7th, 9th, and 11th respectively. I'm proud of how the girls fought through much warmer temperatures than they are used to running in. I am glad that they got the experience to run on this course because we fully expect to qualify at District and run on it again in October.

In addition to the Varsity teams strong showing, Coppell's JV athletes also delivered impressive performances on the challenging Lubbock course. Coach Wren was particularly pleased with the efforts of the JV teams, who navigated the tough course with determination and heart. Reflecting on the JV Girls' performance, he remarked, None of the girls had run on this course before, but they did their best to execute the race plan. Rhea Bala and Shreya Shah both placed in the Top 10, and Carolina Saenz and Khushi Singla finished in the Top 20. Im seeing growth in these young ladies every time they run. The JV Girls ultimately secured a strong Top 5 finish as a team.

For the JV Boys, Coach Wren added, Sam Meier won the event, and Rodrick Abrego followed up with a 2nd place finish. Itsuki Pena and Sidharth Kerthipati both earned Top 10 finishes. I loved how hard the boys competed todaythey're getting better every week. The boys team finished 2nd overall, continuing their steady progress.

Coach Wrens Remarks

It was a successful Saturday for our team. We look forward to building on that momentum as we run at the Lovejoy XC Classic next week. We are missing some kids that are injured and sick and we hope to get them back in the fold soon. The kids have bought into what we are doing, and we're starting to see those results.

It was a successful weekend for both the Varsity and JV teams at the Lubbock XC Invitational. With impressive individual performances and strong teamwork, Coppells athletes continue to show their growth and resilience on tough courses. As Coach Wren noted, the experience gained from running on the challenging Lubbock course will be invaluable as the season progresses. We're incredibly proud of their efforts and will keep pushing forward until the next race!

On Saturday, August 24, Coppell High Schools Cross Country teams made their exciting relay debut at the legendary Greenhill/Lukes Locker 6-Mile Relay! In a thrilling team format, runners broke into groups of four, each tackling 1.5 miles of a challenging course filled with haybales and hills. With teamwork, determination, and incredible team spirit on full display, Coppells athletes faced tough competition and strengthened their bonds, celebrating every step of the way. The joy and energy were undeniable as the team came together for this unforgettable cross-country event.

Coach Wren remarked, This meet was definitely different from the others well attend this year. I wanted to give the kids a unique experience and a meet they could really enjoy. Each runner ran 1.5 miles instead of a 5k, but the course provided a great challenge. Despite missing several runners due to the SAT, those who competed performed very well.

Individual and Team Highlights

Varsity Boys:

The team of Srivanth Rudrangi, Tanish Neelapu, Grant ONeal, and Rohit Kalpathy finished 5th overall with a time of 31:45.62, each runner completing their 1.5-mile leg with impressive times.

Coach Wren added, We were missing a few varsity runners, but I was pleased with how the team of Grant, Rohit, Srivanth, and Tanish ran. The other varsity team, consisting of sophomores and freshmenDiego Morales, Sam Meier, Arya Khanna, and Itsuki Penacompeted well against older runners.

Varsity Girls:

The team of Rachel Arrington, Mallory Sherrer, Annie Reeder, and Maya Easterwood finished 6th overall with a time of 38:48.54, competing against more than 35 teams.

Maya and Mallory had the top times for the girls, praised Coach Wren. The varsity team just missed out on taking home a trophy. Rachel, Mallory, Annie, and Maya all ran well, and Im proud of their efforts.

JV Boys:

Both JV Boys A and JV Boys B teams dominated the competition, each taking 1st place overall in their respective divisions.

JV Boys Team A: Rodrick Abrego, Myles Metrano, Aiden George, and Jose Murillo finished 1st overall with a time of 34:29.40 in the JV A division.

JV Boys Team B: Farhan Mohammed, Christian Todd, Noah Law, and Hugh Harris also claimed 1st place, clocking a time of 36:16.52 in the JV B division.

Coach Wren praised the teams performances: The team of Jose, Rodrick, Aiden, and Myles finished first in the JV A division, and they all ran exceptionally well. The team of Noah, Hugh, Christian, and Farhan won the JV B division. Winning both JV Boys divisions was the highlight of the meet.

JV Girls:

The team of Shreya Shah, Rhea Bala, Delanee Mullen, and Ava Garcia finished 4th overall with a time of 44:04.65.

Coach Wren remarked, Ava, Rhea, Shreya, and Delanee competed hard and earned some hardware for their 4th place finish. Ava Garcia really stood out, running the best time among the JV Girls.

Looking Ahead

Coach Wren concluded: The timing of this meet is perfect because it comes the week before an extremely important race at North Lakes Park in Denton, where the District Meet will be held in October. Im really looking forward to seeing how our kids run on the district course against some of the top teams in the state. I have confidence that with a strong week of practice, theyll perform well next Saturday at the Marcus Coach T Invitational.

Our team came together for a strong relay debut, showing determination and teamwork on this tough course. Most importantly, they demonstrated incredible bonding and strategy. Until next time, we'll keep pushing forward!
