Rockwall Heath Students Show Tremendous Talent in 'Grease' Production

Friday evening was a blast, and it's all due to Rockwall-Heath High School's production of musical favorite "Grease."

I ventured out eastward to see the show for a few reasons:

1. Mr. Glenn Bennett used to teach theatre where I went to high school, and I was fortunate enough to learn from him in several productions. He is fabulous at what he does and has continued to do great work at RHHS.

2. I'm a sucker for "Grease." Memorable songs, colorful costumes and just a fun, easy-to-folow musical. Plus, it's (mostly) family-friendly and always reminds me how much I wish I could spend a day in the 1950s.

Anyway, RHHS students did a fantastic job with the classic from beginning to end. The caliber of singing, acting and dancing talent was exceptional, and the set really evoked a nostalgic feel. Favorite numbers included Rizzo's "There Are Worse Things I Could Do," "Summer Nights" and Sandy's rendition of "Hopelessly Devoted to You."

Plus, the guest appearance by Rockwall Mayor David Sweet playing the part of Vince Fontaine was a special treat for locals.

Congratulations to the entire "Grease" cast and crew and RHHS, and, of course, the choreographer, director and music director who made the show such a joy to watch!
