The House in Victory Park has experienced many new homeowners this year, and none are more excited than Traci and Dan Houpt. As of May, they are the proud owners of a 1,600-square-foot condominium in the luxury high-rise marketed by Dave Perry-Miller & Associates. That’s quite a change from their 4,000-square-foot house that backed up to a horse pasture.

“It was city in the front and country in the back,” Traci says.

The Houpts’ new address at 2200 Victory Avenue is city on all sides. The American Airlines Center, the Katy Trail, the Arts District, the Perot Museum, and the nightlife of McKinney Avenue are all within walking distance.

Most importantly, The House is convenient to the Houpts’ jobs. When they lived in the suburbs, they felt like they really lived on Interstate 30.

“The commute was killing us,” Dan said. “Traci and I started riding together just to get to spend some time together.”

With their son going off to college, nothing was tying them to Heath. And their daughter was already living in Victory Park, extolling the area’s convenience.

To make things more convenient, The House’s staff will valet homeowners’ cars as well as help with groceries, packages, dry cleaning, and any other requests.

“The staff takes such good care of you here,” Traci said. “I can’t say enough good things about them. Smiling faces always greet us, and everyone here is so gracious and helpful.”

The House offers a world of amenities and services, including a 130-foot saltwater pool overlooking downtown, cabanas, an outdoor fireplace, a built-in grilling station, a hot tub, and a private dog park. The discerning buyer will also enjoy a well-appointed lounge with a billiards area, a fitness center, and a conference room.

You’d think a couple who raised their kids in Rockwall County would be experiencing culture shock. But their urban oasis is not completely made of concrete and steel.

“Coming from a large home in a quiet neighborhood that backs up to horse acreage, we still wanted to see green.” Dan said. “We see trees and the wisteria on top of the arbor by the pool, backed by glimmering city lights so we feel like we have the best of both worlds.”

The House is open from 11 to 5 on weekdays and from 1 to 5 on Saturday and Sunday. Call 214-303-1200 or emailsales@thehouse.com.
