Bzzzzzz ... that's the sound of the Rockwall High School's Spring Swarm on May 22 to Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium. During this year's event, representatives from the JER Chilton YMCA at Rockwall will be on hand, answering questions and signing future Yellowjackets to the Y's youth fall football program.
Young athletes will be able to register onsite for the Y’s fall football season, which includes K-2nd grade flag; and 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade tackle. The eight-game season (plus tournament) begins Sept 6.
The Rockwall High School football team and Jacket Backers Booster Club have teamed up with Meador Auto to kick off this year’s Spring Swarm event, the annual spring football game that introduces the 2014 Rockwall Yellowjackets and concludes their annual food drive for Helping Hands.
JV takes the field at 6 p.m.; Varsity play begins at 7:15. Admission is free with two canned goods or $2 per person with all admission proceeds going to Helping Hands of Rockwall County.
There will be pre-game food stands, fan contests, Jacket Backers promotions, special guests, and a 7 on 7 game between Utley and Williams middles schools during half-time of the varsity game. The Rockwall cheerleaders, Stingerettes, Jacket Guard and the Orange Wave Marching Band will be taking part in the festivities.
